Evie's Story
Evie's life did not start out very promising. She lived on the streets of San Antonio, Texas where the amount of stray dogs is overwhelming.

Animal control picked her and some other dogs up and brought them to the high-kill shelter, where their fate was grim at best.

We heard about Evie and how much the volunteers loved her. We knew we had to save her. And so we did.

We transported her up to New York. She has a wonderful foster dad, who has told us so much about Evie's personality. We were not sure how she would do in an apartment building with scary things such as an elevator and lots of strangers.

Well, Evie is AMAZING!!! Her foster dad says once she acclimated (which only took about 24 hours), she started to shine.

Evie likes to greet people in the building and is sort of like a one-person welcoming committee. She is so friendly!

Evie loves to walk around the neighborhood although she will need some training so that she doesn't pull as much. She is very playful and fun-loving.

After a nice walk, Evie loves to put her head in her foster dads lap and take a little snooze.

We are sure she could live with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats. Older kids in the home would be fine. She's about 50 lbs and we wouldn't want her to knock a small child over.

This girl is so fabulous and we are in love with her. You will be, too!

To apply for Evie, visit homerunhounds.org
