Evie's Story
Evie is a very friendly Boxer/Shepherd mix. She is about 3 years old. She is spayed and house-trained. She gets along with all people and other dogs. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she’d likely be more scared of them than they are of her. The adoption fee is $300.

Evie has a great personality and maintains great eye contact. She loves to interact appropriately, and she responds to voice and gestures. Evie knows “sit” and “shake,” and comes when called. She doesn’t beg at the table or need constant attention, but adores the companionship of those around her.

This is an adventure dog who will go anywhere with you, especially if a car ride is included. She’s very athletic and has a very inquisitive nose on walks, especially at deer crossings. She loves going for long walks or staying outside on a tie-out for long periods of time. In her excitement of your return home, she will often bring a gift (her toy) to the door in greeting. Her favorites include squeakers and stuffies of all kinds.

At 70#, she is a large dog and knows how to throw her weight around. She does tend to pull on leash but does well on harness or using a Gentle Leader. She is a counter surfer and uses her adorable, smooshy face to ask for instant forgiveness any time she steals a smackerel in the kitchen. All trash cans should be forewarned of her presence too.

Evie has a tough time meeting strangers and often over-reacts with lots of barking when meeting someone new, however, it doesn’t take long to earn her trust, and she really loves spending time with people.

If you are interested in adopting, you can download our Adoption Application at tinyurl.com/oswego-humane-app; OR if you might even consider becoming a temporary foster caregiver, we would be excited (and pay all the bills!). You can email your completed application and any questions to info@oswegohumane.org!
