Hi, I’m Everly — 2 years old lady, about 55 lbs, and the kind of dog who fits right into real life. I'm living with a wonderful Foster family who has another pup and they all love me because I’m fun, loyal, and affectionate! I love getting out for walks, hanging on the patio, and then settling in for relaxed evenings at home. I’m social, easygoing, and genuinely happy just being part of the day. Oh, and I'm super smart...check out the video my Foster family took of me showing off all the commands I know! I’d be a great adventure buddy for hikes, road trips, and exploring new places, and I’m equally content unwinding afterward. Long Road Home's Adoption Policy

Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
