Everglade's Story

Hi! I’m Everglade.

I’m told I’m a "good boy," whatever that means. Honestly, I’m pretty low-key—as long as your shoes and socks stay put, I’m not into getting in trouble.

Out in the world, I can be a little shy. You might catch me snoozing in a corner while everyone else is running around. But at home? That’s when the real me shines! I’m all about cuddles, playtime, and exploring every nook and cranny. My foster mom says I would love to be an outside dog if she would let me. There is just so much to watch and take in. Whether it's freezing cold or super hot, you can catch me outside.

I live with a lively crew of other dogs and toddlers, so I’m great with both. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m confident I could make a new furry friend. My foster mom recently got 2 ginuea pigs, and I just love to sit and watch them in their cage. When they get some playtime out of their cage, I just want to be right there watching and sniffing them. I'm so gentle.

Couch snuggles? Absolute favorite. I even sleep in bed with my foster mom and, rumor has it, I might steal a pillow or two. I’m fully potty trained, walking nicely on a leash, and getting braver on adventures outside. Car rides? Count me in! I just get so nervous about leaving the house, so they call me "a homebody" whatever that means.

People always compliment my light chocolate-dipped ears—apparently, they’re irresistible. I’d thrive in a home with another dog to keep me company.

The adoption fee is $360

Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.org

Almost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:

(1) Be at least 21 years of age;

(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;

(3) Have approval from the residence owner;

(4) Have valid ID with current address;

(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and

(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)

*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, Zelle, or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
