Evelyn's Story
Evelyn is looking for a new beginning.

After more than a year in what we hoped would be her forever home, sweet Evelyn is sadly coming back to rescue.

This is one of the hardest parts of rescue — sometimes, despite everyone’s best efforts, things change. Evelyn has recently decided that she no longer wants to share her home with one of the dogs she once loved best. Because of this change in their relationship, her family has made the incredibly difficult decision to return her to us so that everyone can be safe and happy.

Evelyn is not a bad dog. She isn’t a failure. And this does not erase the year of love, memories, and happiness she shared with her family. Sometimes, a dog simply needs a different environment and a home where she can truly thrive.

We are looking ideally for a home where she can be the only dog, or where introductions and household dynamics can be carefully managed based on what is safest and best for everyone.

She deserves a family who will see this setback not as the end of her story, but as a chance to give her the happily-ever-after she’s still waiting for.

Please help us share Evelyn’s story. Her forever family is out there.

If you’re interested in giving Evelyn the fresh start she deserves, please email us for an application at lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com

Original post 2025:
Evelyn is a sweetie who LOVES being with her people, especially kids. She tends to have some separation anxiety. Evelyn was an owner surrender and was returned to the shelter twice, possibly due to her dominant personality. She may need a dog-sibling who is either submissive or is confident enough to draw boundaries with Evelyn.

WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

Adoption fee of $475 include spay/neuter, all vaccinations, heart worm test, microchip, monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative and all medical required while in foster
