Eve's Story
This sweet and loving girl was dumped at a shelter in the south on Christmas Eve with her last puppy from a larger litter and the father of the pup, and the person dumping them asked that they all be euthanized. There was absolutely no valid reason for the request to euthanize the three… absolutely horrible and the kind of thing that makes you wonder what kind of human does such a thing? Both Eve and the father dog were extremely malnourished when left at the shelter but somehow, they were still friendly and gentle. Thankfully, Eve’s pup was saved by another rescue and the father was adopted soon after coming into the shelter. But Eve was still at risk, so we quickly decided to rescue her. Eve is a mixed breed (probably retriever, shepherd) estimated to be about 3 years old. Despite the poor treatment she received before coming into the shelter, Eve is the sweetest girl you could hope for. She gained some weight while in the shelter, as a result of finally getting fed every day, and continues to gain more weight, strength and vigor at her temporary foster home where she is gaining trust and starting to play and enjoy life! She is scheduled for transport up north and will arrive in New England on February 20th. We are looking for only the best for Eve, so if you are interested in offering her the safe, loving and caring home she so deserves either as an adopter, foster-to adopt or even a temporary foster, please contact us at villageforpawsrescue@gmail.com for more information and to fill out an application.
