Eve's Story

She was part of a group of 5 dogs who were abandoned in the middle of the woods on thanksgiving night 2025. Eve remained in the woods with 4 of her housemates for 17 days with no food, water, or shelter. Sometime during the 17 days Eve had gotten into a fight with a porcupine and lost. Fortunately on the 17th day Eve was trapped and brought to Clinton county SPCA. She received immediate veterinary care and had hundred of porcupine quills removed from her face, mouth, both front paws and chest. She also had an eye ulcer most likely from digging at her face because of the quills. The eye ulcer is healed however she will have a permanent scar over her right eye. She only weighed 28lbs!
When Eve first went into foster care, she was extremely emaciated and frightened. Over the past two months, she has truly blossomed into the sweetest, most loving girl. Once Eve warms up to you, she adores you and happily considers herself a lap dog.
Eve is a higher energy dog who loves going for walks and playing with toys. She would thrive in a home with other dogs her size as her prey drive is too strong for a home with small dogs or cats.
It appears Eve had little to no prior training, so she is still learning basic manners and house skills. She is very smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn. We’ve been working on leash training, and while she’s improving every day, she still does pull at times. Eve does well kenneled overnight and continues to make great progress.
Eve is ready for a patient, loving home that will continue helping her build confidence, grow, and feel safe. She has so much love to give and is waiting for her forever family!
