Ethel-Pending's Story
**Adoption Pending**

**Posted 4/5/08

Hi, my name is Ethel and as you can see from my pictures, I am a graceful and beautiful chihuahua mix. I love to sun myself on the deck when the weather is warm, as you can see by one of my pictures!! My foster mom is not sure what I am mixed with but she says it doesn’t matter because I am the sweetest girl ever. I am approximately 11 years old and I am very agile and learned how to use the doggie steps to get up and down from the sofa in just a couple of hours, so I am also very smart. For a chihuahua 11 years old is middle-aged - I still have a few good years left and really want someone to share them with. A girl never likes to give her weight, but if I must, I am about 12 lbs of love. I should tell you that I am hard of hearing and don’t really hear much (except really loud noises), but I can see and smell just fine, you just pull out a bag of treats and I will be there – I love my treats!

I guess I should tell you my story. One day I had a home and a family and then the next thing I knew, my family packed up and moved away and left me alone and abandoned in an apartment with nothing, not even a bowl of water. Luckily, I was rescued by people at the apartment who took me to the shelter. I didn’t like being at the shelter because there was talk about me being too old to find a home and being put to sleep and then just when I was about to give up all hope, a nice lady from rescue came and saved my life and that is how I ended up with my foster mom. I get along very well with the other dogs here, but they are all small like me and don’t bother me too much, except when they try to steal my chewies.

I am up to date on my vaccines and have been spayed. I am housebroken even though I have had a couple accidents in my crate. I just can’t hold it more than eight hours and when my foster mom is at work, sometimes I just have to go, but that is okay, she just changes the piddle pad. When she is home, she lets me go out to potty regularly and I haven’t had one single accident in the house. I love my treats and chewies. I love to cuddle up on the sofa with my foster mom - I could sit next to her on the sofa all day if she would let me, but she is always up and about doing stuff and I like to be with her so I follow her around the house wherever she goes. I guess I am just scared of being abandoned again!

So, if you think you could make some room in your heart and home for me, please go to www.silverlake.petfinder.com and fill out an application and email it to slarl@yahoo.com. A SENIOR DISCOUNT ADOPTION FEE WILL APPLY FOR ETHEL. THIS CAN BE DISCUSSED DURING THE APPROVAL PROCESS.
