Meet Esme, a sweet and affectionate 2-year-old Spaniel/Doodle mix with a heart full of love to give. Esme was rescued after being found as a stray and made her way to us in search of her forever home. <br/><br/>Esme is a happy, friendly girl who absolutely adores people. She loves soaking up attention, leaning in for pets, and giving hugs.<br/><br/>Because we want to set Esme and her future family up for success, it is important to know that she has struggled with some separation anxiety and house-training challenges. Esme would thrive with adopters who are prepared to provide her with the support and structure she needs. A home with someone who works from home, has a flexible schedule, or is willing to invest in doggy daycare, dog-walkers, or other support services would be ideal for her. <br/><br/>Esme is an incredibly loving dog who forms strong bonds with her people. With patience, consistency, and a commitment to helping her feel safe and secure, we believe she has all the potential to be a wonderful companion. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.<br/> You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.<br/> Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.<br/> We do request vet and personal references.<br/> We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.<br/>Adoption through STAF includes full vetting of the dogs, including a spay/neuter at 6 months (female)/9month (male) maximum.
