My name is ERNIE......just look at this face! How adorable am I? I'm a 60lb, 4+ yr old Border Collie/Aussie mix and I'm ready to fill your life with love and snuggles! My brother Bert and I came into rescue after our people got a divorce. My brother Bert has been adopted, now it's my turn. I'm looking for a Foster or Furever home. I've been told by volunteers at the rescue that I am a charming gentleman thanks to my incredibly easygoing attitude with humans, but not dogs, as I can be dog selective so a home as the only dog may be best. Oh, and no cats, I may be a little too interested in them. I walk well on a leash and love leisurely walks or an exciting outing! I am house and crate trained and travel well in a car. Don't be surprised when you meet me if I roll over and show you my belly......I LOVE belly rubs! I'm so eager to find my new home where I can truly shine and prove what an amazing companion I can be! Tails & Trails Rescue's Adoption Policy

All of our dogs are in foster homes or boarding and are seen by appointment only with approved applicants. Online Adoption Applications can be found at tailsandtrails.org. Once approved, a Meet and Greet appointment will be set with the dog or dogs or your choice. Our adoption fees include all vaccinations including rabies, boosters/dewormer as needed, spay/neuter, heartworm test, microchipping and are as follows: Puppies under 1 year $375.00 Adults 1+ $300.00 We do offer a Senior to Senior discount for our senior dogs adopted by a senior citizen. Friendly Reminders: **If dogs currently reside in the home, they must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations and on Heartworm preventative. If you have cats in the home the cat must be up to date on the rabies vaccine. Veterinarian information must be provided on the application as we do contact them for a reference. **If the residence is rented, we must obtain written Landlord approval disclosing breed or weight restrictions either in the form of a copy of the lease showing the pet agreement or personal note that includes the landlord name, address and phone number. These should be emailed to info@tailsandtrails.org **The application requires 2 personal, non-relative references. Please provide accurate email addresses as that seems to be the most efficient form of contact and advise them they will be hearing from us soon. We provide shelter, food, medical care & TLC for dogs that are in danger of being euthanized. Our Rescue is an all-volunteer organization. We are NOT a shelter. Our dogs are housed in foster homes.
