Ernesto's Story

Ernesto is an 8 year old Chihuahua with a loyal heart and a lifetime of love still to give. Like many Chihuahuas, he forms a deep bond with his person and is happiest when he's close by, whether that's curled up on the couch, relaxing in your lap, or asking for one more belly rub.

Ernesto is slow to warm up to new people and tends to prefer men, but with a little patience and kindness, his walls quickly come down. Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted companion who happily rolls onto his back for belly rubs and wants nothing more than to spend time with his favorite person.

He is fully potty trained and has excellent house manners. Ernesto recently had a dental, so his smile is looking great, and he takes his two daily heart medications like an absolute champ. His future family should simply be committed to continuing his medication routine so he can stay happy and healthy.

Ernesto gets along well with cats and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially small dogs. While he can live with larger dogs, they should be calm and respectful of his space. He would also do best in a quieter home with older, respectful children or calm adults.

While Ernesto enjoys relaxing with his people, he also likes playing with his small dog friends and appreciates having companionship around him.

If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who will reward your patience with unwavering devotion, endless belly rub requests, and years of faithful companionship, Ernesto is ready to become your very best friend.

They all have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night. This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family. View adoptable pets on our website: www.hoperanchanimalsanctuary.org/adopt ADOPTION APPLICATION (required): www.hoperanchanimalsanctuary.org/adoption-application Like all rescues, we are ALWAYS in need of loving and patient foster homes so we can save more lives who need us most.
