Erica 's Story
ID 59950811

This is Erica. This sad looking lady, who is on the petite side is looking for a home with patience, understanding, yummy treats and a comfy dog bed. Her estimated age is about 4-5 yrs old.

Erica’s first few weeks at the shelter were very scary for her. She did not want to leave her kennel space as it was a “safe place” and she felt no one should enter.
She slowly started to trust a few kennel attendants and then, a few volunteers stepped up to let her know that time outside of the kennel is a good welcoming place for her. She needs slow introductions, will happily co -exist to feel comfortable, absolutely loves loves treats (and takes them gently), and will offer a sit when ready. She does not like super fast movements toward her (she will back away) but once you find a way to her heart, she loves under the chin pets, butt scratches, happy words, and then, even a chance to sit close to that person.

Erica has visited a volunteer’s place a few times and happily will settle in to snooze on a dog bed or couch, but does need a chance to decompress and figure out the surroundings. Leaving a slip lead on her to start helps so that interactions are positive and she doesn’t feel cornered. She does like car rides, but just needs a helping hand to get on. She appears housebroken and we always recommend an adjustment time in a new home /environment.

This lady will need a quieter home, a place to feel safe, a chance to bond with a person(s), and a chance to show her personalty one day at a time.

She did pass her initial dog/dog assessment but a meet is needed with any resident dog in a home.

Is you would like to learn more about Erica, or meet her, please email pevolaba@gmail.com.
