Enzo's Story

Those unforgettable ears have a way of telling you exactly how Enzo is feeling. One minute they're perked high as he watches the world with quiet curiosity, and the next they're soft and relaxed as he settles beside the people he's learned to trust. Beneath those striking German Shepherd and Husky looks is a thoughtful young dog who doesn't rush into new friendships—but once you earn his confidence, you'll discover a playful, affectionate side that's worth every bit of patience.

At just one year old, Enzo is already a wonderful housemate. He's fully house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has been happiest when life follows a predictable rhythm. A walk around the neighborhood, time exploring the yard with his canine friends, and a pocket full of treats are all it takes to make his tail wag. Food is definitely the way to this handsome boy's heart, and positive reinforcement has helped him continue building confidence every day.

Enzo enjoys the company of other dogs and truly blossoms when he has a confident canine companion to show him the ropes. He also lives peacefully with cats. Because he's had several changes in his young life, new people and long periods alone can still feel overwhelming, so he's hoping for an adopter who understands that trust is built one small success at a time. The reward is watching a cautious dog become your shadow as he realizes he's finally home.

If you've been hoping to adopt a rescue dog who will make every milestone feel meaningful, Enzo is a German Shepherd/Husky mix for adoption and a rescue dog for adoption whose best chapters are still ahead. Addicus' Legacy Dog Rescue knows just how special this handsome boy is, and we can't wait for the family who sees the incredible dog waiting beneath those expressive ears.

Enzo is available for adoption throughout Texas through Addicus' Legacy Dog Rescue's Austin-area hub. We welcome adopters from across the Lone Star State and work with local fosters to arrange meet-and-greets. Pickup logistics are arranged at adoption.

Ready to adopt Enzo? The fastest way is to apply directly at shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ALDR/Dog. Clicking "Start Your Inquiry" sends us an email; we'll reply with the application link, but it doesn't place Enzo on hold.

Browse more available dogs in Texas at addicuslegacy.org/location/texas/.

Addicus Legacy Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
We do our best to include as much information as possible about each dog in their Petfinder profile and on our website. For more detailed questions, we’re happy to connect you directly with the foster—this is the best way to learn about a dog’s personality, routine, and needs. To be connected with a foster, we ask that you first complete an adoption application on our website. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. We often receive multiple applications for the same dog. While we generally review applications in the order they are received, our priority is making the best possible match for both the dog and the adopter.
