Emmy Lou's Story

Emmy Lou's story is one of quiet strength. After being abandoned on the street with her seven puppies, this devoted mama kept them safe until they were brought to the shelter. Her puppies were quickly adopted, leaving Emmy alone and confused. But some girls are simply unbreakable.

Now in a quiet foster home, thanks to the folks at Hair of the Dog, Emmy is showing just how special she is. She's crate trained, potty trained, good on a leash, sleeps soundlessly through the night, and is sweet as can be. Her big doe eyes and adorable underbite make her that much more irresistible.

Emmy is still learning that she's safe and likes to keep her foster in sight, sometimes whining if left alone. Given what she's been through, a little insecurity is understandable. But with patience, gentle voices, and a few treats, she's already beginning to come out of her shell. Her small terrier foster brother brings some comfort, and we think she may do well in a home with another mellow, friendly dog.

At around 4-5 years old and 14 lbs, Emmy Lou is the perfect little companion. Her foster believes that once she settles in, this brave mama will blossom into the ultimate cuddle bug and loyal bestie.

If you are interested in meeting this cutie, please fill out the application on the link below and a volunteer will get back to you shortly

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HOTD/Dog
