Emmett is a German shepherd mix that would be the dog that showed up if you were able to order the "perfect dog" from Amazon! He is always happy and wagging his tail, waiting for the next adventure. Afterwards he will lay like a silly boy upside down in his dog bed and take a good, long nap. Emmett is high energy and loves to go on walks and would probably make a great running partner. He loves to run and wrestle outside with the resident older dogs. Emmett is totally potty-trained and will sit at the door when he has to go out and if you are not paying attention he will come find you and give a little whine to get your attention. <br/><br/>Emmett loves to be with the foster family and GSD foster brother and sister and stays nearby so he doesn’t miss out on anything. He loves car rides and spending as much time outside as possible. He has met and been great with other dogs and loves the resident cats. If he can get the younger, friendlier cat to cuddle with him, he will groom him and is very gentle. Emmett prefers to cuddle in bed at night with his people and has been sleeping through the night. <br/><br/> Emmett has anxiety about being in a crate and will go to any length to try and get out so no crates for him. He does great loose in the house with the resident dogs when the humans are gone (have been gone up to about 6 hours with no issues). He plays with ALL of his toys, chews on his bones, or takes a nap until the humans return home. He would probably do best with a canine brother or sister so he doesn’t get bored. This guy is one in a million and can’t wait to meet his fur-ever family.<br/><br/>As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. <br/><br/>We do not allow our dogs to be tied, tethered, chained or secured on a tie out for any of our dogs. We do not allow our rescue dogs to go into homes with an underground electronic fence system.
