Our handsome man Emmett is still waiting for his forever home... will it be with you?
Emmett seriously hates shelter life. We know we say it about a lot of dogs, but he HATES it here. He has been deteriorating since the first day he got here in December and we are so heartbroken for him.
Emmett spends most of his days pacing his room and feeling large amounts of anxiety from the constant barking around him. We would be stressed if there were dogs barking in our ear all the time, too! Our sweet boy is looking for a quiet home to let him finally calm down and get some much needed rest.
Because of his high stress environment, Emmett no longer does well around other male dogs. He is still fine with females, but there may come a time where he no longer likes dogs in general. We're really hoping to get him out of here before it comes to that. He would most likely do best in a single dog home, but we welcome people with other female dogs to have a meet and greet to see if they get along.
If you have been thinking about saving the life of a shelter pet, pick Emmett. You would truly be saving his. He would give you all the love you've ever needed, and you'd have a loyal companion for life!
Emmett is a 70 pound shepherd mix who could definitely stand to gain weight. Since he's been here, his constant stress has kept him from gaining any. He is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Please help our gorgeous man. We have done everything we can for him, but he would THRIVE in a real home.
