Emma's Story

Foster Update:

Emma has been such a pleasure to foster! She loves nothing more than cuddling up next to you on the couch. She loves people and bonds deeply with her person - whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will have the most loyal and loving companion. Emma is very treat-motivated and eager to learn so she’s been a lot of fun to train.

She is estimated to be about 2yrs and 50lbs and is a pretty strong girl, so does require some experience with leash management. With the training we've done together she is doing really well walking with a loose leash, but will benefit from continued training in this area.

At home, she enjoys playing with toys, hanging out with the family and being around our two male resident dogs. We also fostered a small-breed dog and the two of them got along phenomenally. She

is a little too excited around our cats

, so we think she will do best in a cat free home.

Emma is fully crate trained. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, though in the evenings she usually politely asks if she can get on the bed instead.

When we leave the house, she can be vocal in her crate--something we’re currently working on--so she would do best in a single family home.

Emma is a wonderful, friendly dog with a lot of love to give. She’s not high energy, apart from the occasional zoomies, but she’s always down for adventures.

She wants to be close and we’re hoping to find a family for her that can fulfill her mental, physical and cuddle needs.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.

Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application

Animal History:
This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arrived in Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on September 15th, 2025.
