Emma's Story

Emma is a loving people pleaser who will quickly become a loyal family member.
She loves to make her people proud and blossoms when she feels comfortable. She knows a handful of commands, is friendly with other dogs, and has learned (and continues to work on) how to be someone's walking buddy. Emma plays ball, happily accepts treats, enjoys cuddling, being with her people, and playing in her kiddie pool.
Her exuberance and strength can surprise you if you aren't ready for it but she has been hard at work at HSAR, and she is learning and really getting a hang of her personal and practical boundaries. We want her to find someone who has the time to bring the joy of obedience training into her daily routine to strengthen her skills and their bond.
Emma would make an excellent pal for another playful dog.
Previously Emma was a bit hesitant to trust strangers but we found that with the proper introductions, she becomes comfortable. HSAR provides training advice and one-on-one help with our adopted dogs as needed.

DNA Test Results:
48% German Shepherd Dog
18% Great Pyrenees
6% Belgian Malinois
2% Calupoh
11% Siberian Husky
10% Alaskan Malamute
1% Samoyed

Age: 2 years
Mixed Breed: German Shep Mix
Other Dogs: Yes, good with other shelter dogs
Cats: No cats
Kids: No
Weight: 58 pounds
Home Type: Active Home, Great for Walking/ Hiking
Leash Behavior: Walks fairly well on leash
Known Commands: "Sit" "Down" "Come" "touch"
