Emily's Story
Update 03/04/2026:
Looking for a one-of-a-kind dog to be your loving, forever companion? Emily is a 6-year old, deaf, house trained pit bull in the 50 lb. range. Because Emily sort of resembles a cow in her stylish white coat with the black patches, she earned the nick name “Moo Moo” from her trainer. Unlike a cow, Emily is definitely not ready to be put out to pasture. So what makes this deaf dog so special? Through our partnership with a nearby prison, Emily has aced her basic and most of her advanced obedience commands which she learned through hand signals, a truly remarkable feat. Emily is a smart, sweet, low maintenance dog who loves people and loves attention. Being deaf is not an issue for Emily, especially now that she has a way to communicate with her human companions. As a deaf dog, Emily will need a few extra precautions to keep her safe, such as always being on a leash when outside of her home and daily practice with her learned hand signals. In return for that she will splatter you with joy and give you her heart. If you know what a blessing a special needs animal can be, please consider making an appointment to meet Emily.

Emily is a sweet, deaf, Pit Bull Terrier found wandering on her own and brought to the rescue. Sadly no one has come forward to claim Emily so now she is looking for her new forever family that will keep her safe and shower her with all the love she deserves. Emily is a strong girl that loves going for walks and has wonderful leash manners. We have no history on Emily but do know that she needs a home without cats. Emily is very friendly and affectionate with people and is house trained. She is estimated to be around 6 years old, is current on vaccines and will be spayed prior to adoption. For more information on Emily or to set up a meet and greet please contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center ( kennel license # 8704 )
