Emilia's Story

We know Emilia’s people are out there! Could it be you?

Our girl is under 50lbs with a playful spirit and the sweetest face. She is active in the best way (not too much, just the perfect amount of fun-loving). At one point, Emilia thrived in day care with other dogs her size; however, she has since become selective about her canine companions. Is it the shelter environment, or has she refined her tastes? We cannot say. Potential adopters who have another dog about her size should plan on a meet-and-greet (or two). Also, due to her inside voice and her outside voice being the same, she will do best in a house – no apartments or duplexes for this cutie.

Emilia’s estimated DOB is February 2024. She arrived at FOPAS hungry and cold. Thanks to FOPAS volunteers, her heart and tummy are now full. She’s both potty and kennel trained, although fair warning—she believes food left out is an invitation to dive in. That brings us to resource guarding. Emilia is prone to guarding food, toys, and sometimes people. This is a trait that can be managed in a home with consistent training and expectations. Due to this tendency, we require that her new home not include live-in or visiting small children.

These days, Emilia stays at the shelter and enjoys pool time and long walks with
volunteers. She offers many more pros than cons and will thrive in a home that helps her unload the uncertainty of her past life.

To recap: We would love for you to meet our adorable friend if no small children live in or visit your home, if you have no other pets (or if your dog is about her size), and you don’t live in a duplex or apartment. We’ll say it again: We know Emilia's people are out there! Please complete the application below, and a volunteer will contact you. She is a girl with so much potential, patiently awaiting a chance. Did we mention her sweet face?

https://www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application

FOPAS is primarily run by volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare and are dedicated to our animals for their entire lives. As such, we screen all potential adopters and strive to match each adopter with the perfect fit for their lifestyle and activity level.

All adopters must live within a 4 hour drive of Parkville, Missouri.
