Ember's Story

3 years old 62 lbs German Shepherd

Ember is a sensitive, loving girl who's searching for a patient home where she can finally feel safe. She came to us after being placed on a euthanasia list at another shelter when her owner's declining health forced them to surrender her. Despite everything she's been through, Ember has the softest heart and a deep desire to bond with her humans.

She struggles with anxiety and is currently on medication to help manage it, though she still needs support, structure, and understanding as she learns to decompress. Even with her worries, Ember is incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager to connect. Recently, she's begun to open up - showing little glimpses of playfulness, curiosity, and joy as she learns to trust again.

Ember does not do well with cats, and she is currently untested with other dogs, so a calm, pet-free home may suit her best while she continues to build confidence and settle emotionally.

With time, predictability, and someone who sees the beautiful dog beneath the anxiety, Ember will blossom. She has so much love to give, and she's ready for a person who will help her feel steady, understood, and cherished.

On the Day of Adoption: If you are adopting a dog, please bring a carrier and/or leash and collar with you to pick up your pet. If you are adopting a cat, you will be required to bring a carrier. Animals are not deemed adopted until all paperwork has been processed, fees paid, and the animal is released.
