Ember's Story

Hi I’m Ember! I’m one of Arctic Rescues longest residents, and I’ve learned so much during that time with my amazing foster. I was rescued from a rural shelter in Utah when I was about four years old, and now I’m about four and a half.

I get along well with male dogs that are my size or larger but as always, slow and gentle introductions are best. I would prefer a home without small animals, they’re just a little too spooky for me! I prefer children that are teenagers or older.

I’m a an active girl and love to go on walks, hikes, and even pull my human on their bike! I do have a little bit of resource guarding so would need to be fed separate from another dog. I am also working on loving my crate more every day, and I’m very treat motivated.

If it sounds like I might be the gal for you, please contact Arctic Rescue.

Please note: All Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “yes” to “Needs Experienced Adopter.” This is because Northern breeds typically have higher exercise, training, and care requirements than others. We recommend researching the breed before pursuing adoption if you do not have prior experience.

Arctic Rescue's Adoption Policy
HOW OUR ADOPTIONS WORK: 1) We require all adopters to fill out an online application at: https://www.arcticrescue.com/adopt 2) We are a Utah-based rescue. All potential adopters must come to Utah and meet the dogs. We do not transport dogs. 3) We want to make sure that your home is the perfect fit for one of our dogs and vice versa. We want all members of the family to be happy and well matched with each-other, so require families to do a phone interview, reference checks, meet dogs and pass a home-inspection before adoption.
