Elsa - UPDATED INFO's Story
needs a quite home without children.

Elsa is 10 years and 6 months old. Elsa came into the shelter from Campbell Street in The Plains. She was brought to the shelter after the death of her owner. She has been spayed and knows basic commands such as sit and lie down. We believe that Elsa would do best in a home with no small children. Elsa currently weighs 70 pounds. Elsa is also up to date on her shots.

UPDATE: Elsa Marie is that sweet but sassy older lady friend that we all need in our lives. She is no-nonsense with fantastic boundaries while also being warm and affectionate. Elsa is a mature lady who has lived a lot of life- if she could talk, she would regale us with stories that could seem sad, but she would tell them with such an edge of sarcasm that you couldn’t help but chuckle.

First impressions mean a lot to Elsa, both from humans and dogs- she likes to make the first move and doesn’t have time for companions that are too pushy (again, great boundaries!); however, once Elsa decides that you’re alright, you are her friend for life.

Elsa likes to help shy dogs find confidence and would prefer to talk smack about dogs that get too “up in her business” (she can hold a bit of a grudge and had a LOT of thoughts about Truffle). Elsa has watched her buddies and frenemies be adopted and is really hoping that it’s her turn soon. She would prefer a home with adults that understand and are respectful of her boundaries. She also thinks a friendly, but not overly enthusiastic, doggie sibling might be kind of cool. If you need a sweet and sassy lady in your life, come meet Elsa!

Meeting dogs is by appointment only. Please call the shelter (740/593-5415) to make an appointment. All adopters must bring in kids and other dogs in the household for a meet and greet before adoption.

Adoption fees are $125 ($65 for dogs 7 years old and older) and include dog license, basic vaccinations, heartworm test on adult dogs, and spay or neuter (ARRIVED 7/28/25).
