Meet Elsa – Our Sweet Throwback Pomeranian!<br/><br/>Elsa is an energetic, playful, and highly driven 4 y.o. throwback Pomeranian. She is very loyal to her person and is very cuddly and loving, in between play sessions, of course! <br/><br/>Elsa loves other dogs, especially playful bigger dogs. She would love to go to a home with dog siblings to keep her company, however, she doesn’t understand other dogs cues and body language very well so she should only be with very tolerant dogs who will give her some grace. <br/><br/>She instantly loves every dog she has ever met, but Elsa is wary of human strangers and needs slow introductions to new people. Elsa had a rough start in life, and because of past treatment, she is not fond of men. She needs a woman-only home. She is currently being fostered in a woman only home and is much happier. She is extremely loyal to her person and she will thrive in a home that wants to help her regulate her emotions, and work through her fear and reactivity. She wants to engage with her handler and is very driven by praise, food, and toys! <br/>Elsa is a very athletic and active young dog. She loves long hikes, rowdy play sessions with other dogs, and lots of zoomies in the backyard! She can jump very high and has been able to jump over baby gates and up onto tables. Management in the home will be necessary to keep her safe, but she would love to try agility or other dog sports (skijoring anyone??)!! She also loves the cold and snow is her favorite! Unlike most small dogs, she is not bothered at all by rain and still wants to get outside and play or hike. <br/><br/>Elsa has a gorgeous fluffy coat and she is a good girl for grooming! She needs regular bathing, blow drying, and brushing to maintain the health of her skin and coat and to stay mat-free. She shouldn’t be shaved unless it’s a medical necessity. In her foster home, her coat has stayed in tip top shape with bathing and fully blow drying every 2-3 weeks and brushing tangle/mat prone areas a few times a week. With adequate coat maintenance, she doesn’t shed very much in between grooming/brushing sessions. <br/><br/>Elsa has so much love to give – she just needs the right environment where she feels safe and secure.<br/><br/>If interested, please fill out an application at Wagsforall.org, as applications take precedence over emails/calls.
