Elsa's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

If you would like to take me home please complete a Pet Adoption Application

Adult, Red Heeler mix. 18 AND OLDER HOUSEHOLDS ONLY

Elsa came to Camp as a puppy after experiencing abuse, and the experiences of her early life have continued to affect her over the years. She has struggled to trust both people and other dogs, and because of that, she has been passed over by potential adopters time and time again... but Elsa is still trying.

She is an incredibly smart, sweet, loyal girl who absolutely loves her people. Once she trusts you, she is a total Velcro girl who wants to be by your side. She can be shy when meeting new people and needs time to feel comfortable, which is why her adoption will require several meet-and-greets.

Elsa is currently working with the amazing team at Trifecta Training

, who have generously offered free training and therapy for some of Camp’s dogs who need a little extra support. Elsa is making great progress! She is learning, gaining confidence, and showing us more and more of the wonderful dog she can be.

Elsa also enjoys playing with other dogs, and when she plays, she plays hard!

Because she can be selective with her canine friends, introductions will need to be handled carefully.

We would love nothing more than to see Elsa finally have a home of her own, especially now that she is making such positive strides. She will need continued sessions at Trifecta and a family willing to take the time to build a relationship with her. Elsa may need a little more time and patience than some dogs, but we believe she is worth it!

18 AND OLDER HOUSEHOLDS ONLY. Multiple meet-and-greets required.

Complete an application at www.camppapillon.org. Once your app is approved, our Adoption Team will schedule an appointment to meet Elsa.
