Elroy's Story
Elroy is a long-stay shelter favorite, and once you meet him, it’s easy to see why. Volunteers and staff adore him because we see his huge potential — he’s the kind of dog who will be endlessly loyal to someone ready to guide him, love him, and show him the world.

Elroy makes a fantastic adventure buddy — he rides well in the car, enjoys exploring quiet trails, walks politely on leash, and checks in often with his person. He’s super treat-motivated, loves enrichment like Kongs, and happily shows off his smarts for yummy rewards. After fun outings or a romp in the yard, he’s content to settle down for a nap or soak up affection (chin and booty scratches are his favorite!).

Elroy spent some time in a foster home and lived with a cat, he was more interested in the cat's food than the actual cat!

If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who’s eager to learn, loves adventures, and wants nothing more than to be someone’s best pal, Elroy is ready to start his next chapter. His bags are packed — all that’s missing is you.

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets!
