Elora's Story

Elora / Female / 3 months / approx 21 lbs / Mixed Breed (will likely be large fully grown) / Good with Dogs / Untested with Kids & Cats / Local Surrender/ Fostered in Toronto

Meet sweet Elora! This little gal came to Fetch & Releash at just four weeks old alongside her siblings. As you'd expect from a puppy this young, she is a little ball of rambunctious, curious, and adorable energy. She loves to cuddle, nap, and play. She is affectionate and ready to be the best companion to her new family.

We'll give you the big puppy disclaimer later on, but for now, let's focus on the good parts of puppy ownership. This little girl is a total sweetheart, and loves to be near her humans. She is very friendly and playful in the way that all puppies are. Elora will come wiggling up to everyone she meets to get pets and give kisses. She is very affectionate and likes to sit beside you while you work, looking up with those puppy dog eyes, until you finally gather her up for a snuggle.

This little ball of fur could eventually grow into a BIG cuddle monster. Elora and her siblings didn't come to us along with their mother to confirm, but we suspect she is a mix of several larger breeds. The good news is that large breeds are typically kind, affectionate, and loyal dogs who are protective of their families, but still perfectly capable of socializing with other dogs or pets if given the proper training.

While Elora doesn't require a lot of space now, the potential size of the breed usually means it'd be a good idea to have a backyard, or live near a nice dog park to give her proper exercise.

Elora is currently teething, which means she is chewing everything she can find, but is easily distracted by giving her new toys to chew on. She is also just beginning to potty-train and will still have some accidents. Elora has been making great progress with her training pads and loves attention and treats, so training will be fun!

Elora has not met other dogs, or children yet, but given her age and demeanor we think she will do well with them. As it always does, it will just take time, patience and proper introductions.

ABOUT YOU!
Puppies are a lot of work. At just 3 months old, we are looking for families who have FLEXIBLE work schedules and the time and energy to invest in socialization and training. Yes, Elora is tiny and oh-so-cute, but we can pretty much guarantee that she will:
-Pee and poop on your floor
-Chew your furniture
-Eat your designer handbag
-Ruin your leisurely Sunday morning sleep-in

As a condition of the adoption contract, their new families will be required to:
-Ensure they have an opportunity to go outside every 2-3 hours. If you work full-time, this means hiring a dog walker to come in 2x per day for a puppy visit.
-Attend and complete a basic obedience class at your own cost (proof required).
-Provide plenty of socialization opportunities – both dog and human – it's important at this stage.
-Spay/neuter them within 6 months of adoption. If done at our partner vet in Mississauga, the spay/neuter will be included in the adoption fee. If you choose to do it elsewhere, it will be done at your own cost. Proof of spay/neuter is required to finalize the adoption.

If you’re interested in adopting Elora, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form

Elora’s adoption fee is $1000.
