Eloise's Story
Eloise had a rough start in life. We don’t know exactly what happened but it seems she spent most of her life in a crate with someone (most likely a man) who was not very nice to her. She showed up at the shelter as a stray and her foster mom fell in love with her ears and perfect underbite, and couldn’t leave her behind. She’s been in foster for a few weeks now and she’s learning how to be a dog in a home where she’s safe and loved. It’s a big difference from where she came from, so she’s still nervous around new visitors, especially men, but if you know the secret to her heart (lots and lots of treats) she warms up quickly. So far she is doing well when introduced to other dogs, and we think older dog savvy kids who understand her fearfulness would work well with her. She’s probably 1 or 2 years old at most so she’s quick to learn, but we’re taking it slow and letting Ellie decompress fully and making sure all her new experiences are good ones, compared to the scary ones of her past.
