Elmer's Story

Elmer is very calm, shy & timid. Elmer will take time adjusting to a new home & people. Elmer can be dog selective. Elmer has shown over the two years that he has been with us that he does best with larger dogs. Elmer is NOT good with outdoor cats but fine with them inside. Elmer is good with livestock. It seems as he may have been abused. If you drop something or there is a loud noise he runs scared. He will take time to adjust to his new family and home. He absolutely loves my children and he would be ok in a household that have children who understand boundaries/space. Someone who works from home, could take him to work with them or is retired would be ideal. He loves human companionship. He would love to just be at someones side. Elmer is crate trained, Elmer is leash trained and potty trained. Elmer is scared to ride in cars. He does it but he is very anxious the entire time. Once he adjusts to your home he will be very loyal. He is such a lover. He loves to carry stuffed animals, beds or blankets around in his mouth wherever he goes lol Weve had Elmer in our rescue for 2 years so weve learned a lot about him and all of his little quirks.

Please visit our website https://gabbysanimalrescuevisalia.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
