Elliott's Story
Thrilled to be out and about, this handsome ACD (Australian Cattle Dog) could hardly wait to sniff every bare inch of ground upon his release. Handsome Elliott hails from the Stokes County Animal shelter and was super eager to hop in the van for his victory ride home. He rode like a champ all the way home eagerly looking out the window without making a peep.

Great with every single human he meets, Elliott is also chummy with his canine companions. He's met over a dozen at his foster home and the rescue, and has made several friends. Like most “Blue Heelers” (slang for ACD,) this fellow is as smart as a whip and learned his routine after only the first time. He's an easy walker on the leash, wants to follow his human around, and seems to be scent motivated. His teeth tell us he's still a fairly young pup, and we have no idea how he came to be in a shelter. He loves his kuranda bed and nice soft mat, and has gone straight to his bed since the first night he slept in it. Constantly returning for more, Elliott loves to be brushed, groomed or have his back & side rubbed. He's crate trained and housetrained.

About the only challenge we see with Elliott is that, unlike most of our pets who arrive underweight, he could lose a few pounds. So, we need someone who is willing to get this fellow some exercise.

Elliott comes with our standard medical package which includes his neuter, microchip, rabies, parvo-distemper and bordetella. He has been de-wormed and is on flea and tick as well as heartworm prevention. He does require a fenced in yard, preferably a canine companion and someone invested in getting him back to the right size.

If you believe your environment and family are a match for handsome Elliott and you are interested in meeting him, please submit an application.
