Elliott is a 5 year old lab mix. He is 73 pounds. He is a good boy and is house trained and crate trained. Elliott is a very smart guy and already knows sit, shake, lay down and roll over. Elliott has excellent house manners and truly enjoys air conditioning. He will be the Soux chef in the kitchen and the couch king in the living room. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
We all spend a lot of love, time and money on these animals and want to see them go to good, permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to take care of them. OUR ADOPTION FEE is $180.00 WE ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE THAT ALL POTENTIAL ADOPTERS PROVIDE VET REFERENCES SO WE CAN CALL AND DETERMINE THAT ANY PAST OR EXISTING ANIMALS IN THEIR CARE ARE BEING KEPT UP TO DATE ON VACCINATIONS, PREVENTATIVES AND ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED. The reason for this is that we want to make sure that our animals are going to a home where they will be safe and healthy and be kept up to date on vet care. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this protocol so when you ask for a vet reference, they know what you mean. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL POTENTIAL ADOPTERS UNDERSTAND THAT ADOPTING AN ANIMAL IS A LONG TERM COMMITMENT AND THAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF TAKING CARE OF AN ANIMAL LONG TERM. Also we need to establish that any potential adopter has a safe, fenced yard; and will provide shelter for the animal. We also want to ensure that they know how to introduce a new animal into their home, to their existing pets, to children, etc. We require all of our animals to be indoor pets. ALL ADOPTIONS MUST BE FINALIZED AND APPROVED BY THE FJCASP BOARD. This is to ensure that an experienced person has some oversight on the adoption process; to make sure everyone understands their responsibilities and that the animal will be safe. IT IS PART OF OUR CONTRACT THAT ANY AND ALL MEDICAL TREATMENTS, VETERINARY COSTS, PREVENTATIVES, FOOD AND SHELTER ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ADOPTER.
