Ellie ID 44221/4138's Story
Easy to live with, quiet, calm, affectionate…that is how I’d describe Ellie. I’d also describe her as dainty! At the moment she’s a bit “plump” and she’d benefit from losing a few pounds but despite her curves, she is dainty. Ellie knows basic commands like sit and down and shake and she’s great on leash. She likes walks but doesn’t demand a ton of exercise and is perfectly house trained and crate trained. Ellie does have a startle reflex if approached suddenly by another dog and to loud noises and this startle reflex makes her unsuitable for younger kids. Her previous owner reports that she lived with cats and even slept with her kitty friend and that she was good with some bigger dogs. Ellie recently spent a few days in a foster home and this is what her foster had to say:

“Ellie had excellent manners in my home. She quickly made herself comfortable on her dog bed. Ellie waited next to the couch until I invited her up to join me and she rested her head on my lap and made a great cuddle buddy. When I took Ellie out for a walk she seemed sensitive to loud noises. Ellie let out a quick bark when a dog came our way, but she quickly went back to sniffing and exploring when we walked the other way. Overall, Ellie was calm and happy during her stay. She had excitement and energy to play catch with her toys, but was also content resting and cuddling.”

Meet Ellie, a sweet and loving girl who's looking for her second chance at happiness. Ellie is a friendly and affectionate dog, always eager to show her love and loyalty. Her previous owner was unable to keep her but expressed how much she loved her and that she is such a wonderful dog. Her stout wiggles on leash and playing in the yard are sure to keep you entertained. She's estimated to be between 3 to 5 years old, spayed, and ready for a fresh start. Could you be the one to open your heart and give Ellie the love and security she deserves?
