Ellie and Chip - bonded pair's Story
Meet Ellie and Chip!

This wonderful bonded pair is available for adoption to active and loving adopters, so please help us spread the word.

Ellie (the tan Labrador) is approximately 5 years old with an abundance of energy. She’s crate- and place-trained, good on and off leash, and has a solid Sit and Down. She’s good with all dogs, and she loves to lean on people.

Ellie was a stray picked up during the Altadena Fire in LA last year. She’d been a neglected backyard dog and then a stray before she was rescued. Her amazing rescuer took her in and gave her good training, lots of love and great care. Now Ellie is very happy to be living in a safe environment and is looking for her forever home with her doggie pal, Chip.

Chip is the black, tan and white Lab/Cattle Dog mix. He just turned 4 on December 27, and his rescuer has been training him as well. She says he’s easily reached the goal of being successful in his new home…. forever!

These two sweeties are fantastic dogs. Their rescuer takes them on 6-9 mile hikes every day. They don’t chase wildlife and they have rock solid recall. They’ll need to go to a home where their adopter(s) can give them a lot of activity, long hikes, good healthy exercise and fun adventures.

They have mild separation anxiety (thus we’re looking for an adopter who can take both of them), but their training has helped stabilize them. Both Ellie and Chip are great in their crates and in place.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Ellie and Chip, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
