Ellie's Story
Hi, Im Ellie. Man, I had a tough start to my young life, but now that Im all healed up, I am having a blast! I was found outside, in rough shape, and with a broken leg (it was no fun and I was a very sad girl). Since then Ive recovered and learned SO many fun things. I smile constantly! If theres a blanket nearby or a comforter on a bed, you can bet your paws Im going to crawl under it and tuck myself right in. I usually let out a loud yawn once Ive found the perfect spot. I also smile in my sleep (and 100% of the time) and wiggle my butt really fast when you come say hi! I absolutely love rolling around in the grass and whipping zoomies. My ideal day is some moderate exercise and then snoozing on the couch. I sleep nicely while my foster parents work during the day. I get occasional bursts of energy and run around chasing my toys my foster parents laugh at me because Im such a large gal it takes me a bit to get moving! I never touch anything that isnt mine, Im fully potty trained, very loyal, and I sit and wait nicely for permission to go eat my food at breakfast and dinner time. I am reactive on a leash, especially to other dogs, and need someone to work with me on these skills so I learn to walk next to you with confidence. My foster parents have me on these two fancy leashes and we are working on fine tuning these skills. Not to brag, but I know how to sit, shake, stay, wait, and come. Im working on down, but havent quite figured that one out yet. I am very food motivated, so Im sure Ill pick it up in no time! I would love to learn more good behaviors, but I will need to learn on a one-on-one basis the group dog setting is not for me. I absolutely ADORE all the people I meet, but dogs are not for me. I have to go to a home where I am the only dog (so I can be the center of attention, hello)! Something important about me is that I am crate trained in a very special crate. Its a pretty heavy duty crate because when I first got to my foster parents house I was not crate trained at all and needed a little more reinforcement. Recently, we tried switching crates but I am so used to my routine that I made it clear I was happiest in my nice big and strong crate. Im a big marshmallow with some skills that need fine tuning. I think Im a lap dog and sometimes I get nervous when my people leave the house. I require a solid routine, lots of positive reinforcement, patience, and love. I was not properly trained as a young babe, but thats not my fault and I have come SO far with my foster family, I cant wait to show you. Can you help me be the best pup I can be? If so, lets chat (Ill even throw in some kisses and hugs)! Don't forget to watch my video after viewing my beautiful pictures.
