Ellie's Story

**Due to her medical needs, Ellie is a manager-approval adoption. These adoptions can only be processed Tuesday-Friday from 1 to 4 PM. Please contact us with any questions.**

Meet Ellie! Ellie is a 1 year old Miniature Schnauzer. She is already spayed and up to date on all her vaccines.
Ellie and is here at HSHP due to their barking. They were forced to leave due to many noise complaints. Because of this, Ellie will not be suited for apartment living.
Ellie does need to be house trained and trained on her basic obedience. Mini Schnauzers are a wonderful breed to have in the family, but Ellie needs a patient adopter who is willing to work with her and look beyond her pure breeding. Mini Schnauzers also require frequent trips to the groomer to prevent their hair from becoming matted! We will only allow her to go to a home that we feel confident in doing what is best by her.
Ellis has been diagnosed with chronic dry eye, and her adopter will need to continue treatment for the rest of her life. When Ellie first came to us, she was in rough condition, and it took over a month for her to be well enough to put up for adoption. She had developed ulcers in both of her eyes, and while they have healed for now, they may return without careful care. We have worked closely with a veterinarian and followed their instructions to help Ellie as best as we can, but her condition may lead to her yes having to be removed in the future. Since this care is essential to Elli's quality of life, a manager will have to approve her adoption to ensure she is going to a home that will give her the treatment she needs.
Ellie is a very sweet and gentle girl. She can be nervous in new situations, but quickly warms up to the right people. Ellie does well with other small dogs, but tends to be fearful of bigger dogs. She has never met any cats or children and we would recommend doing meet and greets prior to adopting.
Ellie is a special girl and will make the right owner very happy! If you think this girl could be the one for you, and you can provide the care and attention she needs, please come out and meet her today!
