Thankfully, she was surrendered to CCRT so that we could take care of her veterinary needs and find her a wonderful home. <br/><br/>In foster care, Ellie is a delightful, submissive, girl who is friendly with everyone she meets. She can be a bit timid at first, but she quickly becomes your friend. When she’s not napping in her dog bed, she likes to follow her humans around, which means that she’s a tripping hazard, especially in the kitchen. When you think she’s missing, all you have to do is look down and there she is at your feet, looking up at you lovingly.<br/><br/>Ellie’s not a morning person, but she’s wide awake when her breakfast appears. The only times she has been known to bark are when she’s demanding a meal. It’s obvious that this food-motivated sweetie hasn’t missed a meal in her most recent past, but she will slim down now that she’s getting proper nutrition. She walks nicely on lead, so she can go for short walks to get her in shape once the weather improves.<br/><br/>A forever home with a securely fenced backyard is a must for Ellie because she needs to go out often. She’s a small girl with a tiny bladder. She will use pee pads in an emergency but prefers to do her business outside. Her house-training is going well and it needs to be continued by her adopter.<br/><br/>Ellie needs a quiet home where her adopter is there with her most of the time. Because of Ellie’s petite size, any children in the forever home should be at least 10 years old and dog savvy. Any dogs in the home should be small, gentle and match Ellie’s energy level. Ellie is a persistent bed thief, so they mustn’t be offended when she takes over their bed or sneaks into bed with them. Ellie has not been exposed to cats. <br/><br/>Ellie has had a wellness check at the vet, she’s spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Having had a much-needed dental, she’s no longer in pain. With medication, her ear infections have cleared up.
