Ellie's Story

“Moving states, too old to take.” That’s the sign that was zip-tied to a crate with the sweetest senior girl inside. That’s how we met Ellie. She had been abandoned at a dog park, left alone and confused, until someone found her and got her to safety. We can only imagine how scared she must have been.
Ellie is doing her best to move forward, but you can still catch glimpses of the life she once knew. She absolutely lights up around children—it’s clear she loved her family deeply, even if she wasn’t loved the way she deserved in return. Now Ellie has a second chance at the kind of forever home she should have had all along, and we’re hopeful the right family is out there for her.
Ellie is too curious to live with cats, but she would love a home with children ages 7 and up. She can coexist with other dogs, though she needs slow, thoughtful introductions and time to feel safe. A home where she has her own space to decompress and adjust will be essential. While we believe she would thrive most as the only dog, she could do well with a calm, confident older male dog who will give her the time and space she needs.
Ellie deserves to spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and the kind of devotion she has always given so freely.
