Ellen's Story

Hello- my name is Ellen Manning AKA Ellie Bellie, In my past life in Missouri I was bred over and over, having numerous litters. Thankfully in Feb I was brought into a foster home, and in Sept brought to Illinois by @placeingpaws. To adopt me go to https://placingpawsrescue.org/applications/dog-application/ A little about me…. I am stunning, I mean just look at me, I mean REALLY look at me. I am 5’ish years old, no puppy business here, full on responsible adulting at its best. Weighing in at 60lbs, I am literally a perfect size. I am still recovering from a nasty infestation of heartworm. (to be expected in my area) Post treatment and my vet has suggested that I take things easy…. I mean… as if I had other plans other than sleeping on the couch. My favorite thing is laying the yard, letting wind flow over my sexy mom body or rolling around to get all that grass smell on me. I watch for any sort of invader- a squirrel, chipmunk or even geese overhead. If I cannot be outside, at least open the blinds so I can look out and if you can be a sport, put the couch near the window so I am comfortable. I will occasionally give a ~ I am here bark or what was that noise bark, but overall, I just keep to myself. On a good day I may play with a plush stuffy for about 3 or 4 mins- not interested in a ball. I am dog friendly. Car rides I tolerate but not my favorite, walking on a leash, at first, I pull but with practice and patience I become more comfortable. I like mealtime but I'm not a mooch. I go in my crate willingly just to hang out but it is not necessary, I am house trained. Who is ready to open their home and hearts to a momma with lots of lovin to offer?

If you are interested in this dog The first step is to go to our website and fill out an application. https://placingpawsrescue.org/applications/dog-application/

ADOPTION FEE: $400.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative. ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org. Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possible. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed. The best way to contact us is by email at placingpaws@yahoo.com. It is very difficult for the limited numbers of volunteers to return all calls. Thank you.
