Ella is an 8-year-old sweetheart who has spent the last 5 years waiting for her forever home. She’s currently enjoying life in a foster home with one of our training partners, where she’s showing what a wonderful companion she truly is. Ella is affectionate, housebroken, and crate trained. She enjoys giving gentle hugs to her friends and loves snacking on bananas! She’s playful with other dogs after proper introductions, but overall she’s a laid-back girl who’s just as happy to relax by your side. Ella can be shy with new people at first, but once she feels comfortable, her loving and gentle nature shines through. She was even featured in Newsweek for her resilience and big heart. After all she’s been through, Ella is ready to find the forever home she’s been waiting for. Ella’s adoption fee is sponsored, and she’s also eligible for our Senior for Seniors program, which offers additional support for adopters aged 65 and older. Open Door Animal Sanctuary's Adoption Policy

Once a preliminary form is submitted online, we will set up an appointment with you. Our staff will introduce you to the animals they feel best meet your wants/needs. After you have fallen in love, the animal will be reserved for you while we wait for the date of your home visit. This is to ensure that our pets are going home to a happy, healthy and safe environment. After your home visit has been approved, you will pay the adoption fee at the time you come to pick up your new pet. You MUST live within 100 miles of our shelter to adopt from us.
