Elizabeth (Foster-to-Adopt)'s Story

Elizabeth is available for Foster to Adopt!

We'd love to welcome Elizabeth into the Fetch + Releash family on January 7, 2026. In order to secure a spot on the flight, she needs a committed foster-to-adopt family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take her home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found.

Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.

Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care.

During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.

Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth / Female / 10 months old / 40 lbs / Mixed Breed / From Antigua
Elizabeth is a happy, well-adjusted young pup who is ready to find her forever family. She was rescued alongside her littermates after being born to a stray mama, and thanks to great foster care, she’s grown into a confident, loving, and social dog.
Elizabeth is truly a “gets-along-with-everyone” kind of girl. She currently lives in a foster home with one of her sisters, dogs, and cats, and she does wonderfully with them all. She has also spent time with children ages 9 and 13 and did great, making her a lovely option for a family with respectful kids.
This sweet girl is house-trained, walks nicely on leash, and enjoys her daily outings, especially beach walks and swimming. She has a fun, playful side and loves retrieving treasures from the bushes to proudly show off.
Elizabeth is a medium-energy girl who enjoys daily walks and would benefit from at least two outings a day, along with some canine enrichment to keep her mind engaged. While she is not crate trained, she has excellent manners in the home.
Elizabeth would thrive in a home looking for a friendly, adaptable, and affectionate companion who fits easily into everyday life. If you’re searching for a young dog who checks all the boxes (social, gentle, and easygoing) Elizabeth may be the perfect addition to your family.
If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form
Elizabeth's adoption fee is $850.
