Elizabeth (Fifi)'s Story

Elizabeth / Female / Approx 1 Year / 40 lbs / Mixed / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / Good with Cats / From Antigua / Fostered in Oakville

Follow Elizabeth's journey on IG @eli_zabeth.chien

Elizabeth is a happy, well-adjusted young pup with a gentle heart and a quietly joyful personality. She was rescued alongside her littermates after being born to a stray mama, and thanks to dedicated foster care, she has grown into a confident, loving, and social dog who truly enjoys being part of everyday life. As she continues settling into her new environment, her sweet nature shines through more each day.

Elizabeth is very much a “gets-along-with-everyone” kind of girl. She currently lives in a foster home with dogs, cats, and one of her sisters, and she does wonderfully with them all. She has also spent time with children and has shown herself to be calm, gentle, and well-mannered, making her a lovely option for a family with respectful, dog-savvy kids. She approaches people with a soft, thoughtful curiosity and warms up beautifully once she feels safe.

At home, Elizabeth has excellent manners and is house-trained. She walks beautifully on leash and truly enjoys her daily outings, especially when they include time to explore, beach walks, or swimming. On walks, her happiness is easy to see; she lights up with excitement, happily matching her person’s pace. She also has a playful, endearing side and loves collecting little “treasures” from the bushes to proudly carry along and show off.

Elizabeth has a medium energy level and enjoys a nice balance of activity and relaxation. She would thrive with at least two outings per day, paired with enrichment activities like nose work, puzzle toys, or treat-finding games to keep her mind engaged. While she can be a bit sensitive to sudden noises or very busy environments, she responds well to reassurance and positive guidance and continues to gain confidence as she settles in. She is food-motivated, eager to please, and a joy to work with.

Elizabeth is affectionate without being demanding and loves being near her people. She enjoys companionship, routine, and gentle encouragement, and she’s quickly showing just how loving and loyal she can be.

Although a perfectly healthy pup, Elizabeth has tested positive for the tick-borne disease Ehrlichia. The infection is dormant, and many dogs can live their entire lives without complications, but sometimes a prior infection can reactivate or lead to kidney disease down the road. It's recommended that Elizabeth receive an annual 4DX blood test as a precaution and also receive a CBC/platelet count before any major surgery or dental extractions.

If you’re interested in adopting Elizabeth, please apply at
https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form
Elizabeth’s adoption fee is $850.
