Elise's Story
ÉLISE

* McNab Collie mix
* Female
* 12 months old
* 25 pounds
* Vaccinated
* Dewormed
* Spayed
* Microchiped
* Health certificate(if she needs to be transported)
* Good with kids, cats and other dogs.
* Located in HOUSTON Tx. but she can be transported to any state in USA.

Meet Elise

Elise was literally rescued from the middle of the road while I was driving back to Houston. I saw her lying there after being hit by a car. She was confused, extremely skinny, and dehydrated. I gently picked her up, put her in my truck, and brought her all the way from Mexico to Houston. Yes, Elise is proudly Mexican and bilingual hehe.

Once she recovered, she revealed her true self: a sweetheart with paws. Elise is incredibly affectionate, the type of dog that wants to be your shadow. She’ll follow you everywhere and truly believes you are her world. Whether you’re watching TV or just sitting quietly, she wants to be right by your side. Honestly, she thinks she’s a lap dog (haha).

She will be perfect as a support dog.

She’s also an alpha dog, which means she likes to lead and be in charge.

Elise is extremely protective of her family. She will consistently bark at strangers, whether it’s people, other dogs, or even cats, if they from nowhere try to approach if they keep trying to approach despite her warnings, she may snap to protect her space and her people.

We believe this behavior comes from everything she went through in Mexico. It’s very likely that Elise was a ranch dog, living outside in extreme heat, exposed to harsh conditions, and probably mistreated by people. She likely had to defend herself constantly—facing street fights just to survive or find food.

Poor baby, she’s been through so much. That’s why she’s still learning to trust, and she needs someone patient and loving to help her feel safe again.

With that being said, the ideal home for Elise would be one where preferly she is the only pet.

That said, her behavior is totally manageable and fixable if you’re willing to take her to training classes and work with her. A professional trainer evaluated her and said she is totally fine, just need to find a stable home and trust again. She just needs guidance and consistency.

Right now, she’s living with me, a foster family, a couple with two teenagers (14 and 16 years old) and a large Doodle-Poodle mix. They are all free-roaming in the house, they sleep together, and they play. However, it’s important to note that Elise needs time to get to know people and other animals before she can fully trust them.

In her current foster home, the other dog is very goofy, submissive, and easygoing (an Omega dog), which makes the dynamic easier for Elise. But because she likes to lead, she would still do best as the only pet in a home where she can be the center of attention.

Here’s what we know about Elise:

*Kennel trained
*Potty trained
*Low to medium energy
*Quiet, calm, and laid-back
(Protective, affectionate, loyal, and playful
*Alpha personality (she likes to lead)
*Takes treats gently
*Walks perfectly on leash

Just look at those beautiful reddish-brown eyes and her unique cricket-shaped left ear. Elise is so grateful for life, and she dreams of finding someone who will not only teach her English (haha) but also show her what it truly means to have a family and a loving home.

Why the name Elise?

Elise is the nickname for Elizabeth, which means Godsend. And that’s exactly what I believe she is. Finding her in the middle of the road while I was on my way home wasn’t just a coincidence, it was meant to be.

We can’t give up on her.
There has to be the perfect person or family out there for her, someone who will understand her and love her just the way she is.

After all, there’s always a perfect soul waiting for each of us, and Elise’s match is out there somewhere. We just need to help her find them.

Are you meant to be part of her story?

If you feel like you are the right person for Elise, please contact us at:
?
