Meet Eliana

About a month ago NHAR trapped this hound near Walthill. She had been running for about a year. We put her in a foster home and she has adjusted to being a house dog very quickly. As a matter of fact, she goes out to do her business and right back in. She’s had enough of the great outdoors. When she came in she was very thin, full of infected sores and ticks. Dr. Samuelson put her on some antibiotics, nexguard, and her foster did medicated baths. Her hair is so much softer now, the ticks are gone and her wounds have healed up nicely. I don’t know if things will change but so far I have not heard her bark. I know that’s unusual for a hound. Usually we guesstimate a dogs age by the way their teeth look. Dr. Samuelson is thinking a year and a half old, her teeth are nice and white. Having had her in my house I am guessing older maybe around five all she does is lay around and is very mellow. She definitely has had a rough beginning in life. We now have her spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and micro chipped. She is dog and people friendly. Every once in a while she will want to get up to play. We have named her Eliana. If interested in this hound dog, please click on the link below for an adoption application. Adoption donation is $135.
