Egg's Story

Hi, I’m Egg!

I hatched into the world around December 1, 2025, and I’m currently a bouncy, snuggly Lab/Shepherd mix (plus a few mystery breeds, if you ask me). I’ll likely grow to about 50 pounds of goofy, loving goodness. I was found with my mama and sibling living in a cardboard box—sadly, my sibling didn’t make it, but I’ve been lucky to land in a foster home in Carlsbad with another puppy friend, a resident dog, and four fun kids. It’s been the perfect place to practice my snuggles and zoomies.

A few of my best moves:

Snuggle Pro: My ideal location? On a human lap. Bonus points if you have soft blankets or a warm hoodie.

Toy Enthusiast: Chew toys, tug-of-war, and chasing socks (yes, I admit it)—I’m always ready to play.

Kid-Approved: I live with four kids right now and I’m loving the fun and energy they bring.

Road-Trip Ready: I ride great in the car—windows up, vibes high.

Crate Champ: I sleep through the night in my crate and enjoy quiet downtime during the day.

I’m a very affectionate and playful pup, but I’m also working through a few baby nerves. I can be a little vocal—when I’m excited or feeling momentarily unsure. I whimper a bit when left alone but settle quickly, especially with consistent routines. I’m also learning how to stand up for myself with other dogs and building confidence through observation and gentle socialization.

My dream home?

I’d love a yard to run around in and humans who are up for fun and training. I’d do great in a home with kids, another dog, or both! Since I have a voice and like to express myself, I may not be the best fit for apartment living unless you’ve got a great play schedule. Most of all, I need a home with love, patience, and snuggles on tap.

My adoption fee is $550, which covers my first year of vaccinations, neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at www.thecantufoundation.org

Let’s scramble into this next chapter together.
