We are a local foster home based rescue.<br/><br/>Effie is a delightful lady who makes friends everywhere she goes. She is gentle, happy and ready to go. Effie is ready to be a treasured family member and would love a family that will include her in their plans. She will be happiest in a home where her people aren't away for the long work day. Effie is a great little sidekick and is a good girl in the car. She has impeccable house manners but, because she likes to tell you when someone is walking or driving by the window, apartment life isn't for her.<br/><br/>Effie has lived with other dogs and would be fine in a home with a male canine companion. She is a mother hen so a calm, submissive dog would be a good match for her. We don't know if Effie has had an experience with cats, therefore, any cats in the home would be dog savvy and have a place to safely observe Effie while she adapts to her new surroundings. This adorable pup has lived with children and would be fine in a home with respectful children 8 years of age and older.<br/><br/>Effie received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. While in our care she was spayed, had 4 mammary masses removed and her teeth were hand scaled. Two of her mammary masses were benign and completely excised and 2 were completely excised but cancerous. Effie had x-rays of her chest and her lymph nodes after her surgery. The cancer has not spread. Effie is 8 years old and weighs 12 pounds. <br/><br/>Please note, we have approximately a 250 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up their dog.
