Eeyore's Story

Eeyore is the perfect companion for the individual or family looking for a snuggly, fun, sweet, and small pal! He is 3 years old.

Eeyore is eager to be lazy and loves to lounge around given the opportunity! However, he can also be active and adventurous, too! He is truly the best of both worlds in a tiny, sometimes silly and sassy package.

Eeyore has lived with all ages of people and all types of animals. His home before coming to us had a larger male that was incredibly unkind to Eeyore--this can result in Eeyore being sensitive to any kind of bullying from other dogs. His foster mom has observed heightened anxiety in the home with a confident and sometimes bully of a housemate. Eeyore's ideal doggie companions will be sweet and gentle, playful is good, but we can't place Eeyore with any dogs that may be even a little bit of a bully (he is a sensitive guy!). He is not an ideal daycare candidate due to his cry of fear if he is frightened--a cry that is heartbreaking and a result of his past home's trauma--he was severely wounded by the male dog in the home before coming into our care.

He has been healed physically for months, but we are still seeing bits of fear here and there around loud noises or dominant male dogs.

Eeyore is crate and house trained, and was used to being off-leash all the time before coming to us! He often accompanied his family on jaunts through the woods during all seasons, and is used to an e-collar for off-leash adventures.
