Edwin - RESCUED's Story
IF NOT CLAIMED BY OWNER AVAILABLE MONDAY, JULY 28
PROOF OF OWNERSHIP REQUIRED

Edwin was found near the Airport in Albany. He is thought to be around 8 to 10 years old and is very thin, currently weighing only 19 pounds. Edwin also appears to be deaf and is feeling a little punkish. A vet visit resulted in a diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease and will require Edwin to be put on a diet of special kidney food.

UPDATE: Poor Edwin was found wandering and confused near the airport. He may be one of many senior dogs that get dumped when they start not feeling well. You see, Edwin came in with a host of health problems. He was skinny, frail, and quite anemic. In his kennel, he laid curled up in a ball, obviously not feeling well.

We got to work on addressing his health problems and one of our regular dog walkers brought Edwin home to recover. Even then, Edwin was still pretty shut down. Slowly, Edwin began eating again and has started to perk up. Some of the most endearing and encouraging signs of his progress have been Edwin starting to joyfully trot around the backyard and learning to beg for potato chips.
Edwin is a work in progress, but his story is not over yet. This petite boy will continue to blossom with love and care.

Meeting dogs is by appointment only. Please call the shelter (740/593-5415) to make an appointment. All adopters must bring in kids and other dogs in the household for a meet and greet before adoption.

Adoption fees are $125 ($65 for dogs 7 years old and older) and include dog license, basic vaccinations, heartworm test on adult dogs, and spay or neuter (ARRIVED 7/23/25).
