Edward's Story
106 lbs of Shepherd charm, zoomie power, and belly rub bliss.

Edward is a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a giant heart, a gentle soul, and a serious talent for post-meal zoomies. After losing weight and confidence during a rough patch, this big guy has made a major comeback—gaining 25+ healthy pounds, soaking up love, and learning that home can be a safe, happy place.

He’s house-trained, friendly with adults and teens, and totally devoted to his people. His favorite things? Belly rubs (he’ll flop over and request them like a pro), chew bones, sunshine, and a yard where he can zoom like the California bullet train we were promised.

Edward has been working with professional trainers to build confidence and polish his leash manners. He walks beautifully with guidance—strong and curious, but responsive—and has made huge strides in his ability to settle around other dogs. He can now walk calmly alongside familiar dogs and observe new ones without barking or lunging. That said, Edward thrives as the only dog in the home. He takes time to feel secure sharing space with other dogs and does best when he doesn’t have to.

He’s not crate-trained and prefers the freedom of a home with yard access. His foster, Ken Z.—a wonderful 80-year-old dog lover—calls him a total joy… just not a dog you walk while holding a cane.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and slightly goofy best friend who’s past the puppy chaos but still full of life, Edward might just be your guy.

Big heart. Big paws. Big love to give.

To be considered for adoption you will need to complete an adoption application and email a virtual tour of your home to adopt@realgood.dog

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
www.realgood.dog
