Edith's Story
Edith is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Edith is a bright and beautiful approx. 2-month-old retriever mix puppy with a heart as big as her curiosity. From the moment she arrived in foster care, she showed just how clever she is—learning “sit” on her very first day and proving to be highly food-motivated and eager to please. With her sharp mind and love of treats, Edith is expected to be a dream to train as she continues learning her puppy manners.

This sweet girl is already making great progress with house training, happily heading outside to go potty and using puppy pads indoors as she continues to learn. She settles well in her crate after a few minutes and sleeps peacefully at night in her playpen. Edith loves being outdoors, whether she’s running through leaves and snow, chasing a ball, or exploring the yard. She has also started getting used to a harness and did wonderfully on her first little walk around the driveway and yard.

Above all, Edith is a total cuddle bug who simply loves to love. She’s confident, social, and friendly with dogs both her size and smaller, and she has been wonderful with people of all ages. Her favorite things include soft squeaky toys, nylabones, and—most of all—spending time with her humans and canine friends. Smart, affectionate, and full of playful energy, Edith is truly the sweetest little lady who is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles to her forever home.

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
