Eddie's Story
The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

Eddie is a 6-year-old Chihuahua with the confidence of a Great Dane and the legs of… well, a 6-year-old Chihuahua. Found as a stray, he strutted his way into IDR+ like he owned the place, got fully vetted, neutered, and now believes he’s been promoted to “management.”

Since moving into his foster home, Eddie has decided that home life is acceptable—as long as the couch is soft, the snacks are plentiful, and the humans understand he is the main character. He coexists with the other Chihuahuas just fine, but let’s be honest: Eddie would prefer to be the only dog so he doesn’t have to share his food, his crate, or his people. Classic Chihuahua behavior, but with extra flair.

Eddie is house trained and proudly alerts his foster when he needs to go outside. He does his business with the speed of a dog who has zero interest in the outdoors, then beelines straight back to the couch like it’s his full-time job. Spoiler: it is.

When the foster’s grandkids visit, Eddie simply observes from a distance like a tiny, judgmental grandpa. If things get too chaotic, he politely excuses himself to his crate, his personal safe space and throne room.

Eddie isn’t for everyone, but for someone experienced with the delightful quirks of Chihuahuas—loyalty, dramatics, selective sharing, and a whole lot of heart—he’s an absolute gem. He’s smart, loyal, independent, and just the right amount of spicy. If you’re looking for a pint-sized dog with a big personality and even bigger opinions, Eddie might be your guy.
